This blog will highlight the trial and tribulations of being Lauren. The main problem in Laurenland is dating and I will work to post some past dating experiences for your reading pleasure. I will dedicate many blogs to my new dating experiences too!
Weird things happen, I do weird things and I like weird people. I hope that reading about Laurenland is enjoyable for all!

The boyfriend phenomenon...
Is it just me or does dating just become harder the longer you do it? I used to be able to get boyfriends, no problem. I even had a guy ask me to be his "high mountain mama", not "high mounting mama" for you sick minds out there.
Now I find these unavailable guys who want to either act like my boyfriend in every sense of the word, but not call me their girlfriend. Not sure why they should reap the rewards of getting to hang out with me and make the SSL (sweet, sweet love) if they can't simply be my boyfriend. Really, is that too much to ask? My last non-boyfriend, bought me b-day and valentine's gifts, exclusively dated me, took me on trips, introduced me to his friends, but almost stopped seeing me when I asked him if I was his girlfriend. I chose to settle for not having the title and kept things the way they were. I called him my bitch instead. You can imagine how that went over...
What happened to all the sweet guys I used to meet that wanted nothing more than to call me their girlfriend? Maybe things have changed because it used to be to get the SSL, you had to say the words - "will you be mine". Perhaps not for eternity or death do us part, but until one or both of you knew whether the relationship had the potential to be serious. Now it's more like, "I'm only seeing you" now give it up!
I love how guys assume that just because you are a girl that you want them around forever, not so. Those guys need to run along! I don't know if guys think the whole girlfriend/boyfriend title has become this thing, like if a guy calls you his girlfriend then it will hurt more when you stop seeing each other - we know that's not the case.
I'm sure that I contribute in this little equation by choosing to like these DBs, but you like who you like, I suppose. I also wonder if maybe I have lessons in life to learn and that's why I'm fortunate enough to attract the "unavailables" (sense the sarcasm). I'm not sure I'm into learning anything more today, thanks. I'm all learned out here! No new knowledge necessary! If it is all a choice, then I choose no more lessons! It's not like you only see perfect people settling down anyway.
So what has happened here? Something is definitely broken...any ideas?
